Magician: Fantastic Fig (Val met him at a party back in 2008 where she had been hired to play the piano. His magic blew her away. She remembers him leaving the party, waving at her from a purple car with his cat perched on his shoulder. At that very moment, she called Macain to tell him that if they ever got married, they HAD to get this guy to come. Val told her mom about him, too, and she actually remembered going to elaborate parties he hosted back in the 70s while she was at UCLA.)

How Val and Macain met, in Val's words: "Macain and I met in 2001 at USC. We were both in the music school and he unlocked a practice room for me one night. I was a freshman and he was a junior, although we didn't start dating until a year later. We got married at the Ventura County courthouse on our 10 year anniversary, and this reception was one year later, so exactly 11 years after we started dating. We wanted to bring our close family and friends to the Santa Ynez Valley because it has become our favorite little getaway spot."
